About The Photographer

Matt Steele spent his childhood doing two things: disassembling complex gadgets, and making art—whether with crayons, drums, or a camera. Matt’s lifelong love for photography began at the age of twelve, when he received a pawned 1979 Nikon EM 35mm camera with an E series 50mm prime lens. Matt adored that camera and captured his unique view of the world through it.

After graduating with a bachelors in commercial art, Matt continued to refine his craft, shooting diverse subject matter. Along with being a part-time professional musician, Matt exercises his ingenuity and aesthetic sensibilities as a character rigger for DreamWorks Animation, garnering credits in such films as Kung Fu Panda, How To Train Your Dragon, Bee Movie, Flushed Away, and Shark Tale.

Matt lives in Valencia, California, with his three favorite subjects: his wife and two children.
